Dr. Richard Emery

I was six years old when I was kicked by a horse.

I limped for several weeks and became inactive. The medical doctor’s medicine didn’t seem to help so my dad took me to see Dr. Tucker, a chiropractor. I remember Dr. Tucker giving me adjustments and it didn’t hurt and I got well. After that, my family went to the chiropractor more than the family doctor. We practiced wellness medicine before it was popular.

Dr. Richard Emery has earned degrees in pastoral ministry, counseling, and chiropractic. He has served as church pastor, college professor, and chiropractor. Dr. Richard comment is that “I have been privileged to serve God and my fellowman in several ways. I understand chiropractic and acupuncture to be health care and also, the ministry of God’s love.

Dr. Dorothy Emery

I grew up in Harrisonville and I am proud to be a Midwestern girl from rural America.

From my mother, I inherited the small town value of helping those with pain and distress. My helping tools are chiropractic and acupuncture. I am constantly amazed at the broad range of health problems that respond to these wonderful approaches to health care.

Dr. Dorothy Emery graduated from Park University, Kansas University, and Cleveland Chiropractic College. She and Dr. Richard started Emery Chiropractic Clinic in 1986. Together they raised six children. Presently, they have 14 grandchildren. They practice in Kansas City and make their home in a small town near the city.

Dr. Christopher Thornburgh

I was injured in an automobile accident in 1993.

Medical care helped me through the initial stages of healing but I was left with ongoing, chronic discomfort. I was fearful of years of discomfort so I investigated chiropractic treatment. It didn’t take long and I was out of pain. I decided I want to provide this kind of care for others. I was soon on a path to becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Dr. Christopher Thornburgh graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College. Before attending the college he served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He is a former Drill Instructor and a veteran of Desert Storm. He worked for ten years as a massage therapist which enables him to bring a good understanding of muscles and soft tissue to his chiropractic treatments. In addition to his degree in chiropractic medicine, he holds a degree in human biology.
